Gregory Isaacs |
Gregory is one of the most unique and intelligent people I have ever met. His uncanny awareness of the world around him is remarkable. His distinctive voice and his great appeal to men and women in the reggae music field make him one of reggae's greatest legends. I first became acquainted with Gregory at his African museum shop on Chancery Lane in the 1980's.Although we were never really close back then, we maintained a professional respect for each other. It was not until 1990, when Gregory came to America to tour for the first time in around seven years, that Gregory and I got to know each other. His extended stay in Washington, DC of about 3 months gave me the rare opportunity to get a real glimpse into the person and genius he is. Gregory has contributed songs to both of the RAS Reggae For Kids albums. I hold Gregory in a very special place. (Doctor Dread)
